Pick - Fight - Upgrade - Repeat

You are stuck in a stone and adventurers are trying to pick you up and use you on their quest. But you are picky and your're trying to resist getting taken away by just anyone. You want a REAL adventurer to carry you. When you find your chosen one, you await their inevitable death, while absorbing the blood essence of slain monsters, strengthening your power to find an even more worthy hero.

Things we had planned, but couldn't implement or fix in time

  • more sound effects
  • pause menu
  • game saves and loading
  • day/night cycle
  • particle effects for elemental damage, crits or similar
  • runes system which would act as active abilities for you to use during combat
  • different weapons, the system is technically implemented, but we decided to keep it simple with one weapon for now
  • multi enemy "wave" fights with ranged enemies
  • boss enemies
  • more hero sprites
  • custom enemy sprites
  • last minute changes to sprites broke animations a little bit
  • exporting the project to WebGL broke a few internal connectors and sounds

I was so addicted to the gameplay loop <3

Hab noch nicht ganz gecheckt, was die beiden Balken bedeuten und was es bringt die Tastenfolge zu drücken. Das Design find ich sehr nice :)

It's shocking how our game has similar designs. Not only it is about a sword choosing for someone worthy, but it has autobattler mechanics too.

One notable difference is the lack of player agency once you pick a wielder, that you don't get to do anything other than waiting for them to die, before getting to upgrade. Some people don't have that much time waiting, and it makes endgame feel like something you don't want to do.

Ideally, the game could be improved if there's something for you to do during a run.

My game is Only You Are Worthy btw, for similarity reference.

neat concept but missing the execution, needs a lot more development game play loop is a bit meh and the pacing is very slow.

Hey, thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts! This was our Game Jam prototype, still in the very early stages of development. We’re really proud of what we managed to create in such a short time, and even more so that so many people are enjoying it!

We definitely want to improve the gameplay loop and pacing as we continue working on it. What kind of experience were you hoping for? Anything specific you think would make it more engaging? We'd love to hear your thoughts!

Really appreciate you checking it out!

Good game. Endless is still buggy

Thank you for playing! We want to address these oversights in the future. Until then enjoy overpowered Heroes!
